The Fence (and playing in the dirt)

Well, we finally put up a fence. One whole side is done, so we had to clean up our mess. Of course, Mackenzie thought she needed to help. She was a great helper picking up the dirt and putting it in the wheelbarrow. She also made sure the fence was stable. It passed her inspection. It will be nice to be able to enjoy the fence this summer.

Enjoy the pictures and video!

Such a big helper!
I didn't realize the video was set to black and white until after I took it and came inside and looked at it.
Enjoy! By the way, she was done helping when she started to eat the dirt. Yuck! Mommy then took her in to wash her hands. As you can see, she had a great time until then!

Just a cute picture

Jim took this picture the other day of Mackenzie in her pj's. Just wanted to share it because it is such a cute picture of her all cuddled up with Moppy (her bear), Bunny (her pal), blanket, and pillow. She just looks so cozy. The blanket and pillow were actually mine as a baby. I am glad Mackenzie is enjoying them now and loves having the pillow in her bed. The only thing not in the picture is the pink-flowered blanket that she actually sleeps with at night.

Let's play at the park!

While we were at Morse Lake, we took Mackenzie to the park. She loved all the things to do! Here are some pictures that we got. Enjoy! This was just something else to keep her busy while at the lake.
"That was fun going down the slide, mama. Can we do it again?" That was a fast ride for mommy!

"Look at me, I'm on the horse!" "Neigh, Neigh"! This is a fun place!

"Wee! Higher Higher!"

"I thought the whales were supposed to be in the water!"

She fell asleep about 5 minutes after we left the park/lake.

Someone was t-i-r-e-d!!! Didn't even get to finish her milk before dozing off!!

Row, Row, Row the boat (and jetski)

Memorial Day weekend was a lot of fun. On Sunday, we went to Morse Lake. It was a long, but fun day. Long for Mackenzie, but fun for mommy and daddy. Mackenzie was so tired when we got home, plus she is cutting more teeth, so she was an uncomfortable little girl. She had a great time at the lake though. She got to play with her cousins and see family that she doesn't get to see very often. It sure wore her out though!

Here she is just having fun and smiling for the camera while showing off what she can do in the boat. She loves to climb!

Mackenzie playing in the kayak. As you can see, the boat is in the grass :-). She just liked the fact that she could climb in and out of it.

She is wanting someone to take her out in the water. She knows that is where the boat goes. Just wait, Mackenzie, you will get taken out, just not in this boat.

Mackenzie wondering what we have put her in--she looks so awkward and uncomfortable in her life jacket. As long as she is safe, that is all that matters.

Here we are getting ready to take her for a ride in the jetski. She loved it! She was very interested in watching the water. It relaxed her so much she almost fell asleep on daddy. After that ride, we left the lake.

Stay tuned for the next part: When we took Mackenzie to the park to play. This was also at the lake. So many things to do! I will post pics soon! For now, enjoy the water and boat pictures!

The Laundry basket

Mackenzie really enjoys playing in mommy and daddy's laundry basket. She goes into the closet, dumps it out, pushes it into the bedroom, then proceeds to try and climb in it. If she can't manage it by herself (which she does need help), she makes sure mommy comes to the rescue. So this morning I took a couple of pictures of her playing in the basket. At the end, there is a video of her playing in it and then falling out. :-) Enjoy!

Mackenzie in the basket by herself, happily sitting and talking.

Mackenzie in the basket with her bunny. Bunny is her pal.

Here she is after she has just fallen out of the basket.

In the video, at the end, she kisses the camera, so it may get blurry when she gets too close. :-)

Swing high, Swing low

Look at Me! Jim built Mackenzie her first "swing" set. She loves to swing in it. This will be another great outdoor activity for us to do. She would probably swing for hours if we continued to swing her for that long. A lot longer than she does at the park--too many other things there! Now we go out back, and she goes right over to her swing. :-)

I love my new swing Daddy! Thank you! This is so much fun! As I am typing this, Daddy and Mackenzie are out swinging. They actually went out to blow bubbles, but ended up swinging. :-)

15 month check-up

Just a quick update on Mackenzie's 15 month doctor visit today. She weighed in at 23lbs 7ozs. She is 31.5 inches long. She is a tall girl! To us, she is perfect! The doctor had many wonderful, positive things to say about her development. That always makes us feel good. :-)

15 months already?

Happy 15 month birthday, Mackenzie!

Wow, the big 1-5 months today. How time does fly. Mackenzie has grown and learned so much from the 8lbs 9ozs that she started off at when she was born.

Here is a picture of her as a newborn, and a picture I took of her today in her new red wagon. She has had fun playing in it and the box even though the wagon is not actually ready to be outside (no wheels connected or handle to pull). We will get it put together and then do one of her favorite things-go for a walk :-)

A phone call already??

I'm a big girl now!

Happy Mommy's Day!!!

Happy Mother's Day to all the Mama's, mommies, mom's, and mother's! Enjoy the day!

I love you Mackenzie! I look back on the time that you were a newborn and realize how much you have grown. You learn so much everyday. New words, tricks, and other fun things. Daddy and I are so blessed to have you. You are our little miracle because God chose you for us. You are a little bundle of joy and energy. Your big grin and silly giggle just melts my heart. I am looking forward to many more Mother's Day's. Every day we have even more fun together than the day before. We have our trying times, but at the end of the day, or even the next minute, you are right back giving me, or throwing me kisses, with a big smile on your faceand a big hug. It makes me feel good that I can comfort you when you fall down, get tired, hungry, or just frustrated. It will be so much fun when you get older and we can go get our hair and nails done together and have a girls day out. :-) I will always take care of you!

Love,

Mommy
This s a picture of Mackenzie and I on the beach in Gulf Shores, Alabama. She wasn't too sure of the sand, so she wanted "up" a lot. Once she got used to it, she played happily. We had a great time. A 13 hour car ride is a lot with a 1 year old, but she did wonderful!

The Little Ham

We went and got some professional pictures taken of our family today. Wanted to snap off some pictures of "The Little Ham" before we left. This little girl just is too busy to sit!!! :-) So much to do and learn! Anyways, here are some pictures before we left with mommy and daddy. After seeing up close pictures of her with each of us, who do you think she looks like? We talked about it and we are thinking she is just a mixture of both of us.

Daddy chillin' with mischevious Mackenzie trying to figure a way to wiggle, get down, and go play.

Mackenzie is standing up in this picture with mommy getting ready to go play. She is too busy to sit still for pictures.
Mackenzie thinks it is funny that daddy is trying to get her to sit still for once and be patient for a picture. Patient? What is that word to a busy 14 month old?
Us girls. We are so happy. Such a nice day out. Yea!!! We get to be outside today! It's not raining and the sun is out!
P.S. Mackenzie did wonderful with the pictures. We can't wait to see how they turned out! The hardest part is coming up. Which one/s will we pick?
The last picture is her showing off her newest trick. She climbs up on the chair and gives us a light show by turning the switches on and off. Guess who helped her learn that one? If you guessed daddy, you're right! :-)

Milk and Donuts anyone?

Well, we don't quite have milk and donuts for breakfast, but I caught the "princess" eating her breakfast today. She did have milk, but she also had a banana and waffles. We usually have yogurt for our fruit, so we will save that for our morning snack :-) Our growing girl needs fuel to keep her charged with all that energy she has!!!! :-) Enjoy your day and hope you got it started off right with a good, healthy breakfast.

"Mom, it's too early for pictures. Besides, I still need to do my hair". (This is what Mackenzie was thinking, even though she smiles any time she sees the camera. Big cheese).

The big 15 months on Tuesday!!! Wow!!! I will be sure to give updates on stats after we visit the doc!

Our Little Reader :-)

One activity that Mackenzie really enjoys is looking at books. Here I have included a picture of her little library. I also caught her in a " reading" moment. Doesn't she look studious and serious? Of course, books are very important to mommy, being a teacher and all. So I am excited that she likes to read and be read to! She is a busy girl!

Daddy's Little Helper

Well, today we did some landscaping. Mackenzie wanted to help so we let her help drive the tractor. :-) Wow!! Driving at only 14 1/2 months--I thought I had awhile before the driving part--:-) They grow up fast, don't they?
She also got to play in the new mulch, which is one of her favorite outside activities!! Of course, it and she is a mess when she is done!

Mackenzie's new haircut

Well, Mackenzie got her new summer haircut! We wanted something that was cute, easy, and cool for summer--so we went with a bob! It looks adorable and she looks much older than her 14 1/2 months! :-) Our baby is growing up so fast!
