Happy Birthday Jesus!

We got to take Mackenzie to a Happy Birthday Jesus party during the Sunday School hour at church. She had a great time! It was neat watching her do the different crafts with the other kids. Let's just say you don't see black hair like hers on little ones-they are all blonde or light brown. She was the only black haired godiva in a sea of light brown-crazy! Just makes me realize how beautiful and unique her hair is. I didn't realize we had the camera til the very end, but I got a couple good shots of her eating the icing on her cupcake (that was the only part she ate!)

Keep checking back-I have more fun posts coming up!

Jolly Days

I am going to have to do some catch up here on Christmas. First off, we took Mackenzie to Jolly Days at the Children's Museum. Tons of fun and lots to do! It is such a fun holiday season this year-Mackenzie is at the perfect age! It is also fun to go do extra things around the holidays. She loved the Yule Slide at the Museum, plus there were lots of activities to do in the Jolly Days room.

Ready to start the day!

Miss Kenzie in the Snow Castle!

Brushing the reindeer.

Going down the "Yule Slide"-I didn't realize we had the same colors on that day.
Another trip down-with daddy! Little Miss was going fast!
Next Up-Happy Birthday Jesus party! Check back soon!

Cutie Pie

I just had to share this picture. Mackenzie has been very lovey lately. She will just come up and give us kisses at any random time. Too cute! I love it! She wants to make sure Santa knows that she really wants that Cinderella bike.

Ok, I am going to get kind of sappy here. It's times like this that just stress even more how much I enjoy being a mom. It is such a rewarding job and I wouldn't trade it for the world. I am so blessed to have a Mackenzie as my beautiful daughter. I enjoy my days with her so much. I never realized any of this until I was a parent myself. Yes, I always looked forward to having my own kids and being a mom myself but you don't realize just how special it is until it is your turn. As Mackenzie grows up (I can't believe she will be 3 in February!), I look forward to many more fun times like helping out in preschool, going on family vacations, getting manicures together, and much more. I will also have to say that we would love to bless our family with a baby brother or sister someday. I know she would be a great big sister and would have so many things to teach her little brother or sister. Oh, the things we have to look forward to in the future. I love my life as a SAHM, my husband and my daughter. I thank the Lord every day and take time to count my blessings.
Now that the sappiness is over, go enjoy your day! We are going to go see The Princess and the Frog-Mackenzie's first trip to the movie theatre.

Merry Tykes Library Special

It is so much fun to go to library programs. Mackenzie really enjoys it and so do I. Today we got to go to a Christmas special. What fun! We learned some new songs and did a special craft.

Then it was time to head to McDonald's for a special lunch treat!
Ho Ho Ho!

First Snow!

We got our first snow of the season last week. We also got some super cold weather to go along with it. I'm ready to go to Florida for awhile for some warmer weather! Of course, Mackenzie loved, loved, loved the snow! She was dressed (by herself) and ready to go play in it by 8:30am. So I sent her out and stayed inside. I got some super good pictures and she had a blast! She was out in her snowsuit and I was inside staying warm in my pj's.

Ready to head out.

Not a lot, but enough to play in and have some fun!

She loved the feel of the snow! Great for packing!

My little snow angel.

My little snow bunny's footprints. So sweet!
As you can tell, she had a great time and is looking forward to many more snow days. She was so excited she even went out by herself. Luckily, we have a fenced in yard. She stayed close anyways and kept coming to see what I was doing. :-) I think I may have to break down and get some boots so that next time I can join her.
Have a great weekend and stay warm!

Disney on Ice 2009

We took Mackenzie to her very first show-Disney on Ice. She was so excited!!! Seeing Cinderella meant everything to her. She got a new doll and a new wand (of course, prices were ridiculous). Good thing it was her first time, as we had to also get her picture taken with Cinderella. She had a blast and we could not wipe the smile off her face. We also had great seats (row 20 on the lower level).

Such a cute princess. Of course, we had to buy this in order to take our own.

Belle and the Beast

Our favorite, Cinderella.

A tired Mackenzie!

Breakfast with Santa

Last weekend, Mackenzie was lucky enough to have breakfast with Santa. We took her to one of the middle schools and she got to sit on Mrs. Clause's lap (she was a little leery of Santa). She got to make crafts, have her face painted, go to the Santa Shoppe and eat some yummy school breakfast (ahh, the memories that brought back).

Up next in line to see Santa.

Here we are!

Making her reindeer craft.

Face painting-picture of Santa!
It was a fun breakfast. Lots of activities for the kids! Look forward to doing it again!

Kindermusik 101

Mackenzie has really been enjoying this semester in Kindermusik. We have been doing lots of fun things. Her teacher is great too! This is her last semester that we will be going to class together. Starting in February she will be in the next age up which means that she will be going in by herself for the first 30 minutes. Parents go in the last 15 minutes just to keep up with what is going on in class. That will be great experience for her as she will be starting preschool next August (WOW!)

Waiting for class to start.

This is how we play on mommies lap.

Of course, we had to have bunny that day.

Playing horsie with the scarves-such fun!

Resting time song- Kenzie holding ladybug Pooh.
As you can see, we do a lot of activities and have a lot of fun! Only 19 days 'til Christmas! Enjoy!

Cookie Making

Mackenzie and I had a fun activity the other night of making Christmas cookies. What a great thing to do this time of year! I did take the easy way out and just bought the ones that you set on a cookie sheet and then bake in the oven-you know, the pull apart kind.

Maybe next time I will be brave and we will bake some homemade ones together. :-) Off to watch the Purdue Basketball game and then to the Christmas parade.

Christmas Decorations

I have gotten a chance to get some more Christmas decor this year. It has been fun picking out some new stuff. Plus, I have gotten some great bargains!

Mackenzie with her "princess"tree in her new room. The dress she has on is her favorite right now. It's all she wants to wear.

O Christmas Tree

Our "village"

Some knick knacks. The block letters say "BELIEVE".

The stockings hung by the window with care.

Fun Disney Characters.

The nativity scene and others.
Mackenzie's buddy, our Purdue snowman.
My 5.00 bargain at Kroger.
Enjoy! 23 Days til Christmas!

Putting up Christmas Decorations

It is always fun to put up Christmas decorations. It was even more fun this year with the age of Mackenzie. We started decorating the night of Thanksgiving. I will post a few pictures of that and I am going to take more pictures now that everything is up (be looking for that post). I have added some new stuff to the collection this year.

Daddy putting up the tree while Mackenzie watches Rudolph.

Mackenzie found the Christmas animals and here she is wiht Mickey Mouse.
I was only supposed to take a picture of Mickey :-)
Happy December!
Lots of stuff coming up (updated pictures of her room, updated decorating pictures of Christmas, breakfast with Santa, Disney on Ice, etc)

Thanksgiving Day

We had a fun Thanksgiving day and I hope all you did too. We went to Jim's grandma's and celebrated the day. Mackenzie got to see all her cousins and we enjoyed visiting with his dad's side. We ate at 1 and left around 4pm. We had a big day and Mackenzie was sound asleep within 5 minutes of leaving. She slept the whole 40 min. car ride home. Once at home, we woke her up and started putting up Christmas stuff (that will be another post in itself).

Here are just a few pictures of the busy Turkey Day!

Grandma cutting up the ham-yum! Yes, we did have a turkey too!

Some of the people that were there-there were 20 of us in all.

Only 26 days til Christmas! Lots of fun posts coming up so be sure to check back often!

Thanksgiving 2009

What are you thankful for this Thanksgiving? Mackenzie has made it very clear that she is thankful for Cinderella. :-) We even wrote it down on a turkey feather at the library.

I am thankful for good health, a beautiful, healthy, smart daughter, and a wonderful husband. I am very excited about the holiday season this year, as Mackenzie is at such a fun age-everything is such a big deal to her when it comes to Christmas. I have so many blessings, but I also have some special Christmas wishes this year.

I hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving and enjoy your time together.

A Work in Progress

Well, if you guessed that we redid Mackenzie's room, you guessed right. We actually moved her into our other bedroom. It's actually a bigger room with a bigger closet-just what a girl needs! She is really enjoying her new "princess room". It is basically done other than adding pictures to the wall. I will post pictures of the finished room soon- it is adorable! Here are a few pictures of the work in progress.

You can kind of see the difference between the 2 walls-we did three walls a real light pink and the back wall a darker pink. Everything ties together so well. As we were moving things back in, Mackenzie was continuously saying "Oh my gosh!". It was hilarious! That is her new saying as she says it often!
We have lots of fun posts coming up with new pictures of her bedroom, holiday posts, and lots of other fun things I have up my sleeve.
